Launch of Lethe at the heart of Hanging Space - An uncommon immersive art experience
Friday, September 6th marked the launch of Hanging Space, an immersive art exhibition where a series of floating artworks is revealed in the urban environment through augmented reality. These pieces, invisible to the naked eye, are only visible through a smart device during a walk through the St-Roch neighborhood. The route has been specially designed to reinvest spaces recently transformed.
"Léthé", a work created by Amélie Laurence Fortin, represents an urban legend about a network of tunnels beneath Quebec from the Nouvelle France era. Through augmented reality, discover an imaginary tunnel crossing the city, blending industrial and natural landscapes. Using your mobile device, explore this immersive visual and sound world and view the Saint Lawrence River at the tunnel's exit. The project, inspired by the Greek river Lethe, invites a contemporary exploration of an ancient myth.
For the occasion of the launch at Parc Badelard on Arago East Street, many visitors had the pleasure of discovering these unique artworks, enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Recto-Verso Productions invites you to explore these original pieces that create an artistic ecosystem in the heart of downtown.
Stay tuned for a similar exhibition at Bibliothèque Gabrielle-Roy!
